A Change Agent is anything that moves you. It typically comes in the form of a person, but it can also take the form of a circumstance, a situation or an environment. Watch this blog to hear some examples of change agents, from my friend's story that I shared on Monday - FOUR of them existed in that seemingly small moment in her life...how many of them could be in yours?? Have you thanked them recently?
Seriously, if you haven’t watched recently, watch this one. This is the promised video from Friday – a story of a woman who started to eat that elephant that exists between the life she lives and the life she wants…one bite at a time.
I've always loved this phrase, used by Nike in one of their greatest ad campaigns. I'm using it here to urge you to stop waiting for the big break or the right financial circumstances before you take a step towards living a life that is truer to you.
Sheesh, that's an uncharacteristic title!! (: I hope you guys will forgive me, but I believe this to be true - that in order to truly care for something and ourselves...we sometimes need to back off, relinquish control and become more of a casual observer instead of an active participant. Weird?
I love this question. For awhile, I had this question up at the top of my planner, so that I would be reminded every day of what my real job is - to serve others, serve the situation, bring myself to the table. But first I had to believe that "myself" was someone worth bringing to the table!! (: Be encouraged...you are.
Shouldn't we wait for good circumstances, good elements in our lives, before we are grateful? Nope! If you make the effort (and I know sometimes it is an effort) to be grateful first, you will notice an increase in your list of gratitude items - it's true!
You know how we tend to expect from the future, that which we've experienced in the past? This is so damaging, I've got to tell you. It harms the present moment and harms you. By approaching the present moment with a grimmace and a shield, we will not see all the present has to offer, nor will we be in any kind of place to take advantage of what it brings.
I get told all the time to straighten my corners, refine my appearance, tame those curls! I could go on (the list is endless), but is that what we should do? Constantly tweak and straighten, subdue and polish? Or would we be more successful in our approach, if we were just genuine, just us? I bet you can guess my answer. Be yourself.
